Hughes Airwest Airline Memorabilia

Hughes Airwest was an airline based out of San Francisco and focused primarily on west coast routes. In their heyday, they operated 48 aircraft and flew to 56 destinations.

When Howard Hughes purchased the Air West in 1970, the name was officially made Hughes Air West. And, in 1971, it changed to Hughes Airwest.

Following a mid-air collision of flight 706, Hughes Airwest developed the new livery of yellow and blue. Eventually, the airline was sold to Republic and the fleet was converted to Republic’s livery.
