Formed in 1967, Air Midwest was eventually shut down by its parent company, Mesa Airlines. The airline began flying with a single Cessna 206 hauling human remains for area mortuaries and eventually grew into a fleet of 44 turboprops and codeshared with airlines like Republic, Ozark, Eastern, and American.
